If you were to look through my closet, you'd be able to tell pretty quickly what my favorite color is this season. Once you pulled out the piles of cream, gray, and black that dominate my closet year round, you would find a whole lot of maroon.

I'm pretty sure September forgot to show up this year. We had a HOT last month, and it feels like we just skipped the first month of fall. Which leaves me scrambling to fit all the fall things into this month.

It's funny to watch trends emerge and then to see them make their way into mainstream fashion. New trends are generally a little too weird for most people and can also only be found at a higher price point.

If there is one thing that you can accuse me of and I won't deny it- it's jumping in on Fall too early. I don't care that it's still August (only one more day!) and that I've been talking about Fall style since July. I just have been, I always do and I know it's cliche.

I can't put a finger on it, but it was just such a good day. We worked hard, played together and our family just felt....good. Sometimes I think we don't do enough elaborate things with our kids or we need to make up for working so much but really all we need is time together to recharge.

I'm not usually a skirts and dresses kind of mom. They just don't fit well with my day-to-day life, and I'd rather wear pants. But thankfully I still get the chance to wear them once a week to worship at church.

I love to wear neutrals. If all else fails when choosing an outfit, I will pair neutrals together and I know that I will feel and look good. Mainly I tend to stick with grays, blacks, and browns, but I love the cream and white focus that is trending this spring.

This is an outfit I could wear every day! I love how loose it all fits so that it is comfortable, but it still dressed up enough to feel cute. I love basic pieces with unexpected details like this tee/sweater with the lace back.

very Wednesday I chronicle much of what I have worn that week. I love fashion and I love wearing a great outfit, but these posts really do help me push to my style farther and motivate me to get put together most days.
