It's funny how things can sometimes turn out differently than you expect.  When I saw these Jessica Simpson blue suede peep toe wedges with rivet detailing on the shoe rack at the thrift store- I swear the heavens sang. I put them in the cart almost without even checking the size (they weren't my size). Or the price (they were thrift store pricey if you know what I mean). They had to be mine. So regardless, I brought them home and was hopelessly and totally in love with my good fortune.

Then came Sunday- their debut day because I certainly do not go out in shoes like these unless I'll be sitting on my rear at church for a few hours. Soren offered to clean them up a bit for me before church so I handed them over and when I got them back they were very clean and very wet. And it was time to go. So I slipped the previously too small wedges on and we headed out. Fortunately because they were wet, they now fit- but somehow they stretched too much or were too slippery to stay on my heel. We were late so we got to march up to the front of the congregation to sit and guess who was very awkwardly toting a car seat carrier and a giant purse while slipping out of her 5 inch heels for the entire trek? Oh just this mother of three who shouldn't be wearing such ridiculously unpractical shoes anyways!! Not the impression I had planned on making. So lessons learned: 1.This is not the time of life to be wearing 5 inch heels with children in tow- anywhere. 2. When it is that time- I better practice!

Oh, and as far as this outfit goes- leather is super hot this season. A tee  with leather inserts like this is a great way to add a little bit of that look and texture without being overwhelming. Mine has faux leather inserts and it is really comfortable- even for a baby to lay his head on. Also cobalt blue is a big color right now so you can cheaply add it to your black and white and gray basics by choosing a bright blue color pop accessory. Have a good one
