I'm back in black. All black basics + nude accessories (and lips!) + a little pattern and I'm feeling okay about it still being Summer around here. We've had a slight cool down this week, but the weatherman said it will be back up in the high 80's and low 90's very soon.

It's Friday again and time is just flying by! As I calendared this morning I realized that we only have 11 days left until school starts and then it really will feel like Summer is over! It's hard to see the free days of Summer come to an end so we're packing in the fun this next week.

I'm a chronic layerer. Even when it's hot. So kimonos are trend that totally make sense for me. They are lightweight and don't add any extra warmth to an outfit- just a fun pattern and my beloved extra layer.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm sitting in a house in San Fransisco blogging in real time right now. After the craziest week of the year to date (10 year reunion and fall product launch), I feel like the luckiest lady alive.

When I wore the kimono above, so many of you expressed how much you loved it but were sad it could only be purchased through Stitch Fix. I promised to find more kimono options for you and I've posted some before, but today I have a gold mine of them for you.

I've noticed my shopping has picked up a little lately, and I have to blame it on the anticipation for fall style. I love wearing light layers, and fall colors are my jam - so once the stores start stocking cooler weather items, I start crushing on them.

Well I'm in. ALL in. This kimono trend is the best thing that has happened to my summer. I was suspicious at first. You know I love all things southwestern and not really those from the Far East, but when this navy kimono arrived with my Stitch Fix last week, I about fell over.

I decided to try a faux black dress by pairing a black blouse tucked into my black skirt. Tucking in the top created a fun blouson shape, and I loved the end result. I threw on the tan kimono as an afterthought

I have to admit the kimono trend took me by surprise. My initial response was, "Um, not for me." They often look like a silky robe, and the floor length ones are a little over the top. But since then, I've warmed up to them a bit.
