I know everyone is saying it, but I can't believe Thanksgiving is almost here. Why does the best season of the year have to last approximately 2.5 seconds, while Winter lasts roughly 40 years? It's really not fair. I'm trying to enjoy these last few weeks of Fall, but the temps have been dropping around here and a coat and boots have been necessary almost every day in the last week. This plaid coat is a favorite and these boots are shockingly comfortable for all day wear.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays for so many reasons. The first reason that comes to mind is PIE and I'm not ashamed to admit that I broke into the first pumpkin pie this afternoon. Thanksgiving food really is the best food around and the upcoming prospect of eating turkey dinner for days in a row is already making my mouth water. However I really love Thanksgiving for lots of other reasons. I love it as a precursor to Christmas. It's a great time of year to remember my blessings, teach my kids about gratitude and to get ready to focus December on being thankful for Christ and the reason we celebrate Christmas. This has been a month full of new struggles and good problems. Between our business and our new baby, I've been feeling pretty overwhelmed during the day to day activities and it can be hard to feel thankful for blessings that come with so many challenges. But I can't deny the blessings that we are being showered with- including incredibly loyal friends, daily miracles and answered prayers that keep us going. And it's not hard to be thankful for blessings like that!
