I have gone to church my whole life and at our church, for the most part, we still wear skirts and dresses. It's not a rule, but most women do it, and I like it. I like dressing up once a week, and having somewhere to wear thrifting gems like this great skirt is fine with me. As a SAHM, I can RARELY be found in anything close to a skirt or a dress. I just don't wear them during the week. So, that's where Sunday Style comes in. I'm going to start posting the previous week's church look on Sunday mornings to give you outfit inspiration for church that day or for work that week. Sundays seem like a good place to keep my dressy looks, so Sunday is where they will stay.

And because it's Sunday, I want to try to share some kind of inspirational or spiritual thought as well. Earlier this week I posted about feeling like a victim and had a little pity party for myself. I know comparing my situation to others is wrong and hurtful, but my boy Easton really taught me the simple truth of being happy for other people this week. We say family prayer almost every night and each of us take a turn to pray. Easton is our most genuine and heartfelt prayer say-er. I am continually amazed about what he remembers or considers to pray about, and this week was no different. The day it was his turn to pray, he had gone to a birthday party for one of his friends. He said a very nice prayer, but the very last thing he said really struck me. "And please help Garrett to have fun with his new toys." This was unprompted by us and truly showed me his good little heart. He wanted his friend to enjoy his birthday presents - with no trace of envy. Oh how I could learn from his example. I want to be happy for other people - so happy that I remember to pray for the smallest things to make their life even better.

What did your kids teach you this week? How to you remember or choose to be happy for others?
