We have been fortunate enough to get outdoors a few times this week. The weather has been warming up, but the wind and cool morning temps have been less than ideal. On Tuesday, we went to the zoo with my parents and brothers while they were on Spring Break. We braved the winds and 55 degree temps to see the penguin exhibit and spend time with family. I do plan on buying a zoo pass this year with the hopes of returning often, but I know I'll have to be up for a struggle if I don't bring my mom along. My kids are so well behaved, but no matter how short a time we stay, it is still an exhausting outing! Thankfully, my parents both came this time and helped so much. I found out after we got home that there were shots fired in the zoo parking lot after we left. The zoo was evacuated and closed early. Needless to say, I'm glad we weren't there for that and that we had gone early!

Lily Jade sent me their Madeline designer diaper bag a few week ago and it has been such a great bag to take on all of our outings. Although I wasn't sure initially about the color, I love it now! It is easily one of the nicest bags I have ever owned, and I love that while it is a diaper bag, I can use it for any occasion. It has an inner bag that snaps in and out. I love that the bag has tons of pockets and a changing pad. The inner bag can fit in my other large bags when and if I want to switch out my purse. I like taking the inner bag out and then having the perfect large handbag to take to church or other errands without a baby. The backpack straps are nice to have, although I'd rather use the handbag straps if I am using this bag compared to my other backpacks. All in all, I really recommend the bag. It is pricey, but I can't find anything I would change about it, which is unusual for me! This bag is one that I will continue to use for years and I have to say I don't see myself ever needing another.

Have you been getting outside lately? What are your must-have features in a diaper bag or purse?
