Story of My Life- DIY Apologetic Tee

Super easy graphic tee tutorial

Honestly, the most often used phrase in my vocabulary is, "Sorry I'm late." No matter what I do, how hard I plan, or how early we start getting ready- I'm at LEAST 20 minutes late everywhere we go. It is a big source of anxiety in my life, but I'm trying to just accept that it is part of this time of life. And if I'm not saying "Sorry I'm late" - I'm thinking it.  So when I saw this tee a while back, to say I identified with it is an understatement. What better way to say what I'm thinking constantly than to plaster it across my front?

I've made a few graphic tee tutorials before, one with freezer paper and another free handed, but I wanted to share another easy way to make your own graphic tee. The only supplies you need are a bottle of fabric paint, a paint brush and your white tee. I used a white v-neck and black paint.

First you will need to print out the words you want in the right font and size. I just played around in Microsoft Word until I got the look I wanted. Then slide the paper inside the tee so that you can see the lettering in the proper place. Then grab your brush and start painting/tracing the words. Be sure to use plenty of paint so that the lines are thick and dark and crisp.

It only took about 10 minutes to trace the letters and then I let it dry for an hour. Pull hte paper out and throw it in the dryer to set the paint on high heat for about 30 minutes and then don't wash it until the next day.

It didn't come out perfect, but this was the best option for so many letters. Using freezer paper would have taken forever to cut out all of the letters. Another option may have been iron on vinyl, but I wanted the look of paint.

And that is it! I paired this tee with a soft blazer, boyfriend jeans, and Converse for a comfy chic momma outfit.
