Honest- I Have a Mean Face
I love to read blogs that are real. Real people, who are really good at what they do, with real stories. Being real is one goal that I have for my blog, but it’s not easy. So I figure I’ll share a realization blogging has brought me. One of the most real things I have discovered about myself while constantly editing my own photo is... that I have a mean face. On accident.
How about some more?? This is seriously a problem!! (It was discouragingly easy to find these examples in my outtakes.)
We used to drive to Utah as a family on vacation every summer. When I was probably 12 we were on our trip and stopped at a gas station for a bathroom break. This is when I caught my first glimpse of this issue. I was leaving the bathroom and a very rough looking teenage girl was on her way in. I briefly looked at her as we passed and went on my way. No big deal. Didn't even make eye contact with her- UNTIL she turned around and half shouted, "What's your problem *@#%??!!?? Do you want to fight???" Um what?!!?? My shy, awkward, glasses wearing self scurried back to my parents van in a nervous sweat as fast as my beating heart could carry me. Was she talking to me?!? What on earth?
Now I am seeing what she may have picked up on…..Anyway since then I have tried practicing smiling as I walk around or drive, just to have a pleasant face on. But it feels so goofy! How do I get over this??

So now you all know the truth. If you know me in real life and have ever or always felt like that gas station chick, just remember awkward 12 year old me. I never mean it. I just have a mean face- but hopefully not forever!!
(I thought you all would enjoy this last one- just for fun. I clearly was describing something awful when this photo was taken…..but I sure look mean don’t I????!!??)
Have a great Thursday! Hope this made you smile!
