If you have followed ONE little MOMMA for a while now, you know that I love to thrift. I love the unique items I can find while thrifting and I love the cost savings of shopping at thrift stores. However this last year- since starting Nickel & Suede- I've had much less time to stop in at my favorite stores and browse. And for thrifting success- regular shopping is a requirement! It's been frustrating to have so little time for it, but I have still managed to sneak in a few trips here or there.
For some time I've was hearing about a shift in thrifting to online thrifting on websites like thredUp - and I was skeptical. I love browsing the thrift store racks and finding really cool vintage pieces. How could online shopping replace that?
But when I finally sat down and started browsing, I was pleasantly surprised! I was still able to find really unique and fun shoes for me (see above!), plus a maternity top, and quality clothes for the kids. I definitely had more luck thrifting for the kids on thredUp than at any other thrift store I've gone to. So I shopped the site, found things I liked and was even more impressed when the items showed up clean and in great condition. No thrift store smell- which was fine with me!
As I start thinking about the kids heading Back to School, I'll definitely be browsing thredUp for clothes for the kids' Fall wardrobes. And I know, it's still Summer, but today I'm helping thredUp thank the teachers who are certainly already thinking about Back to School with their Raise a Hand for Teachers program.
thredUp has partnered with AdoptAClassroom.org to thank teachers for their hard work and their dedication to our kids' lives. I had no idea that many teachers not only buy school supplies for their students, but clothing too. To thank teachers, AdoptAClassroom and thredUp are asking for nominations of your favorite and inspiring teachers. Three teachers will each win $2,500 for classroom supplies and $500 to thredUP. 50 runner-up winners receive $100 to thredUP. Winners will be announced on (following Labor Day weekend) and you can nominate from July 15- August 23.

Last year was Easton's first year in school and he had a fabulous Kindergarten teacher. We're nominating Mrs. Donna Wenger from Ridgeview Elementary. She was such a supportive teacher for Easton and for the wide range of students in Easton's class. As the first-time Mom of a Kindergartner, I felt so good about who Easton was spending his days with at school. And I was also so impressed with what Easton learned as a Kindergartener and the chances he was given to be a leader and to help his other peers.

You can nominated one of your favorite teachers here! Who do you have in mind? Why?
