What I Wore - Closet Surprises
Every spring and fall, I put away the previous season's clothes and pull out the upcoming season's. I started doing it in high school, and I love it. When items hang in my closet year round, I see them so frequently that I get tired of them before they are even close to worn out. Whenever I pull out my bin of clothing that has been stored away, it's like Christmas. I always forget about something that I stashed away, and it's an instant refresh to my closet. Last year, I put away this cardigan and kept out my similar black and white ones. I totally forgot I had a red one until I opened my bin and was happily surprised. I know they are total mind games, but sometimes you have to play those on yourself.
A few of you have asked how I store my clothes in my closet and I'm guessing you'll want to know how I put them in long storage too. I wish I had a fancy and methodical answer for you, but I'm pretty below average on my clothing storage. My closet is jam-packed with shoes on shelves and shirts on hangers. I stack my denim, and it's usually a mess. My summer or winter clothing gets thrown in a huge Tupperware bin and stashed in the basement. When I pull it out, it's full of wrinkles and needs a wash. Nothing pretty about it.
Do you put your clothing away for a season? How do you store your clothes?
