What I Wore: Kansas City Fashion Week
Normally I don't put this much thought into an outfit, but I think for this rare event it was to be expected, and it worked out. I was a little overwhelmed when deciding what to wear, but I tried not to let it get to me. I've learned it never really matters as much as I think it does by the time the event is over. I really wanted to wear these leopard booties, but I knew I needed to tone them down or I wouldn't feel like myself. All black was what I had in mind, but I wanted black with edgy details to match the boots. I ended up thrifting this boxy, vintage black top and paired it with black knit pants. The pants have really cool zippered pocket details which peeked out perfectly from under my top. Instead of a red lip, I went with a lilac one which made the outfit feel more like spring despite the black from head to almost toe.
As far as accessories, I custom made some leather earrings for myself out of a cognac brown leather and had Soren make me an extra wide cuff to match. They both turned out amazingly and played perfectly with the boots and the black.
All in all, I felt great the whole night. A low heel was definitely the way to go! I was comfortable, I knew I could walk in them, and I didn't feel like an impostor teetering around in high heels all night.
