So it turns out that camping with a seven week old isn't all that bad. What's that you say?!? I know it sounds crazy, but over the weekend we tried it. We met some of our best friends in Nauvoo, Illinois for a little camping and site seeing. They live in Ann Arbor and proposed a sort of meeting in the middle. When my dear friend Seidi texted me an invite last Monday I almost thought she was kidding. We each have a preschooler, a toddler and baby. "Sounds intense," was my reply- but it was awesome! The worst part was being tired- I got the least sleep because of waking up with the baby, but honestly he did great. He slept for most of the trip and the other two boys had so much fun. What a joy to see them in their natural element tromping around the woods with a pal! The weather was amazing, Seidi spoiled us with amazing ribs and dutch oven potatoes and our kids became great friends. I have my fingers crossed that the stars align so perfectly for us next year too- this needs to happen again.
