Pig Graphic Tee/Sweatshirt {Tutorial} + My Secret To A Long White Maternity Tee
I have a thing for pigs. They really are my favorite animal- sea turtles are a close second. Someday I have dreams of owning a tea cup pig as a pet and my life will then be complete. So when I saw these sweaters in the new Downeast catalog I had high hopes that a pig was included in the line up. Unfortunately the giraffe won out and no pig sweater for me. So what did I do? Made it myself!
I followed this super easy tutorial from Merrick and this was a quick project. The only thing I underestimated was how much fabric paint it would take to do a good coat of black. I found an image on Google and printed it to size. Then I traced it onto freezer paper and cut it out.
After ironing down the freezer paper, I used a small foam brush to apply my paint and let it dry. Then I set it in the dryer for about 15 minutes on high heat.
I LOVE how it turned out! I realize that pigs are not for everyone, but pick your favorite animal and go do your own tee or sweatshirt. It will brighten your day for sure!
On a side note I have had a few readers ask what white maternity under tees I use so I am sharing my secret. I still wear my Downeast under tees in a larger size. They aren’t long enough for me at this point in pregnancy, but I cut the bottom 5 inches off of several old ones and wear them like a belly band. It adds length to my shirts and looks much better in my opinion. I did it with a black on too that you can see here. They aren’t squeezy and it was a cheap fix. I swear by it almost daily.
